Although the Norwegian postal service is very reliable, shipping from remote fjord regions or the north (Lofoten/North Cape) can take a bit longer. A delivery time of up to 10 business days is perfectly normal.
There are hardly any classic post offices left in Norway. It's best to buy your stamps (Frimerker) at "Post i Butikk" – these are postal counters located directly inside supermarkets like Kiwi, Spar, or Coop.
Norway is quite expensive for postage. A card to the so-called "Europe Zone" (including Germany, UK, Austria, and Switzerland) currently costs around 37 Norwegian Kroner (approx. €3.15).
Norwegian Post mailboxes are bright red and bear a post horn logo. You can usually find them directly in front of supermarkets (near the Post i Butikk) or at central squares.
